Last updated: 4 August 2026
Priceglass is a browser extension that compares the price you see with recent observations of the same offer
from other opted-in shoppers. This page explains what data the extension handles, in plain language.
What we collect, and only with your permission
-
A pseudonymous identifier. A random identifier is created when you turn on price comparison.
It is not derived from you or your device, and you can reset or delete it at any time in Settings.
-
Offers and prices. When you open a supported product or booking page, the extension may send
the offer (the cleaned page address and its material details, such as dates or variant) and the visible
price.
-
Coarse context. Your locale and an approximate country, so comparisons can name the kind of
browsing context a price was seen in.
What we never collect
- Your name, email address, or any account details
- Passwords, payment information, or payment pages
- Your browsing history
- Cookies or session data from the sites you visit
- Anything from pages you visit while price comparison is off
Helping other shoppers is a separate choice
If you separately allow it, your browser occasionally checks a public product or booking page to help another
shopper compare prices. These checks:
- only run on an approved list of public shopping and booking pages,
- carry none of your cookies, so they include no account or login state,
- only run when your computer has been idle for at least a minute,
- stay within a few checks per hour per site,
- can be paused at any time in Settings.
How we use the data
Observations are used for one purpose: comparing prices of the same offer across browsing contexts and showing
shoppers the result. We do not sell data, we do not build advertising profiles, and we do not track individual
browsing.
Retention and deletion
- Observations are kept only as long as needed for recent comparisons and quality checks.
-
You can delete your record and every observation it reported at any time: Settings → Delete my record
and data. Deletion is immediate.
- You can also reset your identifier, which disconnects future activity from past observations.
Where data lives
Data is stored with Microsoft Azure and encrypted in transit and at rest. Pseudonymous records are treated as
potentially personal data and handled accordingly.
